School Girls

A scan of a glass-plate negative I acquired at an auction, several scool girls, from The School of the Brown County Ursulines, pose for an elderly 4X5 inch camera. I love how the old negative renders the shadings of the leaves - rather magical looking. This photo was taken on the grounds of the Ursuline Convent in ST. Martin, Ohio. This image likely predates 1930 and certainlly predates the WPA, formed ca. 1930 since others in the group obtained showed landmarks not present after the WPA built a dam on the grounds.
