Cincinnati 08/04/2013

This would be an exception to a fractional-second photographic exposure. Taken from the parking lot of historic St. Rose Church, this image looks downstream towards nearby Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. Technical details include using Fujifilm Superia X-tra 400 inside a Nikon Fg camera, 24 mm Nikon lens, tripod, and bulb exposure using finger pressure for an estimated 5 - 8 seconds. This image was taken as part of a performance evaluation of the camera which was, at the time, for sale on Ebay.com and has since sold. This film scan has been edited slightly: alterations have been made of brightness, contrast, hue, saturation and it has been re-sized to 1100 pixels in width from the original's 4426 pixel scan. Sold with a 55mm Micro Nikkor lens, this image shows how well an early 1980's vintage camera and lens can work at 30 years old. Note that the 24 mm used here was also early 80's vintage.

On the bottom, left third of the image, on the opposite shore, is Dayton, Kentucky. There, a pinpoint of light above the center of the treeline, is a light atop the dome of Saint Bernard Church.
